The power adapter is waterproof, however the two prong connection to the extension cord is not! It is an exposed connection. The WARNING label on every adapter state the adapter must be placed in an enclosure. If you leave an exposed adapter plugged in and laying on the ground with live electricity it will fail, possibly damaging your light display.
Using a proper enclosure will ensure your adapter and lights will operate for years.
I have a Christmas Light Post that was not working after power surges and torrential rain for this time of Year. I checked all connections and wiring and found them okay. I suspected the Class 2 Power supply might be bad. I was able to locate a replacement by the model number on the website that provided a search feature. Works like a dream now. I have packed it away for next Year. Thanks for easing my worry!

Everyone at Spectrum Laser Lights was very helpful. While searching for a part to adapt the outdoor lights I had, I was confused by all of the choices and was not sure which adapter would do what I needed it to do. I contacted SLL and they replied really quickly and let me know exactly what I needed and how well these lights would do what I needed (allow my lights to come on with a timer and not immediately go into random blinking light mode). They let me know ahead of time that this adapter would probably allow only half of my light strings to come on (i.e., every other bulb lights up), but I didn’t really care about that because of how I use my lights. I got the adapter quickly and everything worked exactly as promised. This adapter has only one mode (constant light), so the 8-program outdoor light strand I bought on Amazon will no longer start randomly blinking after coming on with my timer. I would definitely use SLL again.
